The mission of the Southern Cross Astronomical Society is to improve the awareness, understanding, and enjoyment of astronomy.
The group was founded in 1922 and is one of the oldest astronomy clubs in North America.
Come and view the night sky at two Miami-Dade locations.

Public night sky viewings in Miami-Dade are held at Bill Sadowski Park in Palmetto Bay on Saturday evenings (weather permitting) from 8 to 10 pm. Bill Sadowski Park: 17555 SW 79th Ave, Palmetto Bay, FL 33157. Free to the public. Come and view the moon, star clusters, galaxies, nebulas and more like you have never seen before.

Public viewings are also held at The D’Auria Observatory in Homestead on Saturday nights from 8-10 pm, (weather permitting). D’Auria Observatory, 23325 SW 217th Ave., Homestead, FL 33031. Free to the public.
